hungarian floral embroidery kit

This bright, Hungarian-style embroidery features five richly coloured pomegranate designs set against an off-white cotton linen ground.

The kit includes eight shades of Madeira Lana thread, with each flower bringing together all the colours, but no two quite the same. Stitches include chain stitch, split stitch, French knots, satin stitch, seed stitch, and circular Rhodes stitch.

The central motif is printed on a generous piece of cotton linen (55 cm × 38 cm), offering plenty of scope for finishing. Create a cushion with the design as it is, extend the embroidery into the borders, or add a patchwork edging. It also works beautifully as a framed textile piece.
